Would-be intern attacks Solihull MP

A LIBERAL Democrat supporter has strongly criticised Solihull MP Lorely Burt after meeting her to discuss an internship.

Haider Ali says the Lib Dem MP is “mediocre” and likened her interview with him for the placement top “being entrapped in the depths of solitude with a noose waiting to be hanged around my neck”.

His blog questions her involvement in the loss of the Jaguar car-making factory from the town and her expenses.

He also describes Respect MP George Galloway as the “people’s champion”.

The blog was posted on political website Yes Minister. Mr Ali’s biography on the site lists him as a “contributor on Lib Dem politics”.

He writes: “I’m currently in my third year at Aston University studying Politics and International Relations, a keen supporter of George Galloway and the Respect party on a regional level, the Liberal Democrats on a more mainstream level, with them favoring socialist policies and the abolition of tuition fees.”

And he says: “My passion in life is the Palestinian/Israel debate. An apartheid regime that I feel is raping an indigenous people, and a cause that I have to fight for within the means at my disposal.”
