Views sought over Knowle Waitrose

A CONSERVATION group is seeking views on plans to radically change the St John’s area of Knowle, including the establishment of a Waitrose supermarket.

The Knowle Society said the plan is to build a Waitrose on the site of the village hall and move the village hall to a former bowling green by The Red Lion pub.

This will see six bungalows replaced and extra room used for car parking.

The Silhillian reported yesterday that Kimberley Developments has delivered a leaflet to homes on the plans

The flyer includes a map which highlights land to the back of the former Wine Rack, adjoining The Red Lion and extending to homes fronting St John’s Close.

It then includes the village hall and surrounding car parks, including spaces to the rear of NatWest bank.

It does not specify the changes published by The Knowle Society.

It will host an exhibition at Knowle Village Hall on Friday January 15 from 11am to 7pm and Saturday January 16 from 10am to 4pm.
