Waitrose: final Knowle plan 'soon'

WAITROSE says it will soon submit a final application for a controversial store for Knowle.

The supermarket firm spoke a month after a public exhibition on its proposals.

It will need to submit a planning application to Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, which will have a final say on the scheme.

Spokesman James Armstrong said: “We received more than 900 responses during the public exhibition and would like to thank everyone for their feedback.

“Our priority is to analyse these as part of the of the design process with the aim of submitting a application soon.”

It did not address claims by The Knowle Society conservation group that it was revising its plans when asked by The Silhillian.

Kimberley Developments is proposing to demolish the Village Hall for the store and rebuild it by the Red Lion car park. Ten bungalows would be moved for parking.
