Residents turn out for Knowle Fun Run

RUNNERS took to the streets of Knowle today to raise charity cash for the village’s annual Fun Run.

People of all ages completed the five mile course after being set on their way by VIP guest Charles Hanson, below, presenter of TV’s Bargain Hunt at Arden School.

He said: “I really enjoyed it, it is a great community spririted event. It was a great day.”


First past the post was Toby Spencer with a time of 27 minutes and 29 seconds.

Runners included Batman and a fair share of afro and mullet wigs. One team donned military wear and a backpack to raise cash for the Help for Heroes forces charity.

As well as local charities, organisers have chosen three charities to benefit from sponsorship cash, The Parkinson’s Disease Society, The Teenage Cancer Trust and fly2help.
