Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council gave permission for a home in the back of 235 Four Ashes Road, which fronts onto Morville Close, by the Porsche garage.

Approval was given for a home in June but the new plan proposes a different internal layout and the roof size has been changed to reduce the “visual impact” on neighbours.

The application says: “The proposed dwelling is a high quality deisgn which takes subtle design cues from the neighbouring detached houses found in the area.”

It says the back garden is “substantial” and the home would “make a positive contribution to the area”.

Morville Close resident Bryan Bulford objected, saying the plan would “substantially increase traffic and parking immediately adjacent to an important turning area at the end of this cul-de-sac”.

He said: “I believe the proposal will directly and permanently impact the residents of Morville Close who live adjacent to the new plot and especially make it difficult for my family to use the turning circle which is a necessity to navigate in or out of our shared drive.”

He pointed to concerns by Meriden MP Caroline Spelman about “garden grabbing” developments.
