The Knowle and Dorridge Lions will hold its 19th festive walk from Baddesley Clinton House for three good causes.

Organiser Ute Smith said: ““Last year we had record numbers of walkers.

“This year we are hoping to attract 1,000 walkers for the first time, and hope to raise thousands of pounds for these very worthy causes.

“This year Baddesley Clinton House and gardens will be open on the day for the first time with free admission for all Festive Walkers.

“We hope that walkers will take advantage of the offer after they have completed their four, six or eight mile walk and join us for hot mince pies and mulled wine.

“All the walks pass through wonderful Warwickshire countryside using country lanes, public footpaths and canal towpaths.”

The group is encouraging walkers to get sponsored or make a donation.

The walk will raise cash for The Alzheimer’s Society, Crossroads Care, and Dorridge and Knowle Scout groups and other local causes.
