Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is expected to tomorrow night agree details over parking and traffic. The Forest Court store is expected to open next year.

It gave planning permission in November and has since been negotiating the final details of the legally binding “section 106 agreement”.

This will specify that the car park should be open to all – not just Sainsbury’s shoppers – for two hours. Dorridge Practice patients will be able to stay longer.

Automatic number plate recognition cameras will record cars entering and leaving and those who overstay will be sent a letter demanding a £70 penalty.

This will be enforced from 7.30am to 10.30pm Mondays to Saturdays and 9.30am to 6.30pm on Sundays. The car park will be closed with a barrier outside of store hours.

  3. This is great for Dorridge but I wish we could have had Waitrose instead. I just have to hope Waitrose in Knowle will get the green light soon as it's a long trip to Kenilworth or on some busy traffic roads to the Waitrose in Hall Green.
