Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council has approved the plan for the former Sharps Dolphin Moben unit in Station Road.

The application says: “The proposed new hot food takeaway will be a Dixy Chicken, a globally recognised brand that maintains high standards with over 100 stores through the UK and worldwide.

“The Dixy Chicken franchise has continued to grow through the global recession and specialise in Halal meat sourced only reputable suppliers to ensure only the finest ingredients are purchased from Dixy specified suppliers.”

It said the business – the second hot foot take away in the area after Kings Fryer – will “increase consumer choice and enhance the viability and viability of
the town centre location”.

It will open from 11.30am to midnight Monday to Wednesday and 11.30am to 4am Thursday to Sunday.

It said these are identical to the hours of the Kings Fryer as agreed by the council in July last year, where West Midlands Police had raised concerns about late night fights and disorder.
