Fun run entries soar

ENTRIES to Knowle Fun Run have surged after the cold weather saw a slump in those taking part.

Organisers said the better weather had seen more than 1,000 people enter with almost 100 for the mini-run.

The Silhillian last month reported that about 700 have signed up for the main run compared to 950 at the same time in the previous three years.

About 50 have signed up for the mini-run, down 40 on the previous three years.

The May 12 five-mile event is the 30th in its history. Entries close on Tuesday May 7. Click hereto enter.

Proceeds will go to the Marie Curie Big Build, AgeUK Solihull, St Basils and local causes. Runners get a free mug this year.
