Tickets still available for Hockley Heath proms

THE first Hockley Heath Proms will be held in the village on Saturday July 20.

The event will be held at The Recreation Ground, Old Warwick Road and feature Hockley Heath Choir, West Midlands Police Band and The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (Warwickshire) Band.

Music will include Rule, Britannia! Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory and songs from ABBA, The Seekers and The Carpenters.

The show will begin at 8pm and close at 10.30pm with fireworks set to Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.

Visitors can bring their own food and there will be a bar and food.

Proceeds will go to improving a wooded area at the park on Old Warwick Road, Care of Police Survivors and The Army Benevolent Fund.

It is being organised by residents, Hockley Heath Parish Council and Hockley Heath Residents Association.

Almost 300 tickets have been sold and less than 200 are now available.
