"Best ever" GCSE results at Arden

ARDEN school today recorded its best ever score in a key measure of GCSE performance.

Some 94 per cent of pupils got at least five GCSEs, including English and maths, from A* to C.

About a quarter got A* to A in eight or more subjects.

Emily Mitic, Rebecca Mladenovic and Emma Smith got A* in all 11 subjects.

Principal Martin Murphy said: We are particularly pleased that we have achieved such truly impressive results when the bar is being significantly raised nationally and the exam system has changed.

“Congratulations to every student in the Class of 2013 your parents should be very proud of your achievements.

“We have seen breathtaking performance in all areas of GCSE and the vocational examination subjects and this has been down to the hard work and determination of our utterly fantastic students.”
