The firm will be at the Olive Room, Forest Hotel from 6pm to 8.30pm next Wednesday, January 29.

There will be information about the project – for which construction has begun – on display and the team behind the project will answer questions.

Parking on the lower level to the back of Forest Court closed on January 6 for work to take place but upper level parking will be available for the evening.

Project manager Nick Alston said: “We look forward to welcoming residents and local traders who would like to discuss the development. It’s an open evening so people can come along whenever they like within the allotted time to talk to us about the scheme.”

The firm will then open an information centre on Station Approach, in the former Dixons unit, with contractor RG Group.

It will open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 4pm while work takes place for people to ask questions.

The firm hopes to open the store by Christmas.

The controversial development will include six retail units, 184 parking spaces, café and extended and refurbished doctors’ surgery.

A 1,812sqm sales area plan was approved in November 2011 but Sainsbury’s then said work would not start in 2013 because of economic conditions.
