Items taken include five sets of golf clubs, ten satellite navigation systems, skiing equipment worth about £2,500, eight laptops and power tools worth almost £4,500.
Police said in a press release: “Incredibly, some cars have even been left unlocked with high-value items on display.”
Solihull police sergeant Craig Hurst said: “Possessions left on seats in an unlocked vehicle overnight are a real gift for thieves
“Our message is don't be complacent about your vehicle safety; always lock your vehicle and don't leave valuables, or even just loose change, on display.”
He pledged ‘covert efforts to trap offenders’. Official figures show reported car crime has fallen since November in the borough.
Sgt Hurst said: “If there's nothing obvious and attractive to steal it's unlikely would-be thieves will smash a window on the off-chance there's something in the glove-box or boot.
“It's not worth the risk.
"Motorists could also leave their glove box open to show there's nothing of value inside, and remove any covers or blankets to demonstrate nothing is hidden underneath them."
He urged victims to let the police know.
