Parking bans in Bentley Heath and Solihull
WAITING restrictions are to be introduced in Bentley Heath and Solihull despite concerns from some residents.
Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council has made traffic regulation orders for Mill Lane, Bentley Heath and Warwick Road, near Brueton Park.
Some Mill Lane residents who responded said double yellow lines should be on both sides of the roads to tackle problems with St George & St Teresa school.
One said: “The current problem will only be displaced more to the southern side.”
They will apply between 8.30am and 9.30am and 3pm to 4pm Monday to Friday on the northern side of Mill Lane.
The council says it could put restrictions on the southern side at a later date. See the map here.
Small sections of Clifford Road and Widney Road will have the same restrictions.
The Warwick Road restrictions are to combat people who park in the road on Sundays, the council report says. See the map here.
It will ban traffic at all times instead of 9-11am and 2pm to 3pm at present.
It says: “Concerns have also been expressed by some residents that emergency vehicle access could be compromised.”
But some residents said parking was essential for visitors and the park car park should be extended.
Read the objections in full and the council’s response here.
Meanwhile, the council approved making restrictions on Warwick Road between Manor Road and Ashleigh Road and Hanbury Road, Dorridge permanent. Click the links for maps.
