A tree identification stand was also destroyed and a six inch wide tree was snapped in half.
Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council today released details of the attacks, which happened between 9pm last Thursday and 9am the following morning.
Councillor Tim Hodgson, Cabinet Member for the Environment, said: “I’m appalled at this damage and can’t understand what the people who carried it out hoped to achieve, other than mindless destruction.
“As is always the case in such acts of vandalism, it is the taxpayer who will have to foot the bill for someone’s selfish actions. I would urge anyone who has any information about this to contact us or the police.”
Anyone with information should contact Solihull Park Rangers on 0121 704 8472 or West Midlands Police on 0345 113 5000
