Rubbish out of bin won't be collected, council says

RESIDENTS will not be able to leave rubbish outside of their bin for collection from May 31.

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council said the move would ‘encourage everyone to recycle even more’.

It said: “As we are now able to recycle the majority of your waste, most households will be able to get their remaining waste in the bin provided.

“However, a larger bin can be offered to residents who, due to special circumstances, are unable to accommodate all of their non recyclable waste in one 140 litre bin per week.”

This will include families of five or more people or those with medical conditions, the council said.
From April 1 new charges were introduced and existing charges rose for replacement bins and boxes.

The authority was looking at letting residents buy another green bin but this was scrapped.
