Somerville Homes Ltd has lodged an appeal over its plans for 223 berths at Stripes Hill Farm.

It was rejected along with a plan for land off Jacobean Lane by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council in December – but both have now gone to appeal.

The national Planning Inspectorate will now decide whether both plans should go ahead.

The Stripes Hill plan includes car parking, a site office, toilets and showers.

The council threw out the plan as it considered it was ‘inappropriate development as it constitutes an engineering operation that does not maintain the openness of the Green Belt’

It would have a ‘significant impact on the openness of the Green Belt’ and was ‘harmful’.
