It has gone on the place of a former chess board and was designed by children from Monkspath Junior & Infant School and Newlands Bishop Farm.
The redesign of the area has cost the authority £11,000.
Cabinet Member for Environment, Councillor Tim Hodgson said: “These are great additions to the town centre, adding colour, interest and a talking point for visitors and residents.
“The pyramid mosaic has been an imaginative community project bringing together many residents. I am sure it will be enjoyed for many years to come.”
National judging will begin on Friday and will include a three-and-a-half hour tour of the borough.
This will stop at places including Bentley Heath allotments and Malvern Park.
