A MURAL which hung in the entrance of the former Solihull Civic Hall for four decades could go back on public display.

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is looking for funding and a new location for the 126ft long Anthony Baynes mural.
It was created in 1962 and remained until the building was demolished in 1998 to make way for the Touchwood shopping centre.
Its section have since been stored at Solihull Central Library.
The mural depicts borough scenes including Knowle Locks, Solihull High Street and Grimshaw Hall.
A council report says storage has ‘posed an ongoing challenge in providing suitable storage accommodation, which has caused them to remain in a basement corridor for some ten years’.
It adds: “Clearly a long-term solution for the mural is needed, if possible restoring it to public display, where it can again serve to promote the Borough’s civic pride and tourism
attractions.”
My Baynes, who studied at the Slade School of Art, died in 2003.
The council will investigate external funding for the project, such as the Arts Lottery fund.
