Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council said non-recyclable waste would be collected.
Up to three bags of waste left beside the black wheelie bins will be collected, it said.
It said: “Recycling services (green and black boxes and plastic hessian sacks) are suspended until the New Year.
“Please do not put out items for recycling at this present time.”
It added: “We hope to restore services as soon as possible and will also aim to collect any backlogs as soon as is practical.”
