Christmas Lights switch on dates

SOLIHULL and Knowle’s Christmas lights are be switched on this month.

Father Christmas will open a free grotto at 1pm on Saturday and crowds are invited to gather in Mell Square from 3.45pm for the switch on.

The event will be hosted from presenters Ed and Rachel from the Heart FM breakfast show and Cbeebies’ Alex Winters.

A parade will leave High Street for the square at 4.45pm and include Father Christmas, reindeer and children’s characters handing out sweets and treats,

The lights will then be switched on at 5pm.

The Christmas Fayre (above) will return to Mell Square the following Saturday until December 23.

Parking will be free after 6pm from November 29 to December 24 in Touchwood, John Lewis, Marks and Spencer, Church Hill, Mell Square and Lode Lane car parks.

Knowle’s Christmas lights will be switched on in High Street on Monday November 26 at about 4.15pm.

The event will feature Father Christmas, refreshments from traders, entertainment from Arden school’s Ardennaires and carol singing.
