A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “Officers and ambulance
crews arrived at the scene minutes later to find the man had suffered serious
injuries, and despite the best efforts of medical staff he could not be saved.
“The occupant of the car, a Vauxhall Insignia, was uninjured.
“Kenilworth Road
was immediately closed for enquiries to be made at the scene and the vehicle to
be recovered. The road re-opened at around 00.15am .
“Police are trying to locate family members of the deceased
and are continuing enquiries locally this morning.”
