NO new primary school places are being planned by education
for Knowle and Dorridge because of a falling birth rate.

It is one of only three areas along with the “rural east”
and Shirley East that is not expected to need extra places.
Some 1,289 extra borough places will be needed by 2024, a Solihull
Metropolitan Borough Council says, and 495 are already planned.
An extra 365 homes are planned at three sites in the two
villages by 2024 but council calculations show places needed will fall from
1,719 last year to 1,680 by 2024.
A council report said: “The birth rate is declining in this
area. No additional primary school places are required.”
The new homes are 150 at Four Ashes
Road , Bentley Heath – for which 27 have been
approved and being marketed as “Dorridge Gate” – with 100 more off Hampton
Road , Knowle, to the back of Knowle
Primary School .
Another 115 are planned for Middlefield, Knowle, at land to
the back of the playing field of Arden
school.
