A DEVELOPER has overturned a council decision to stop them building a house on a garden. Click the link below to read.
They won an appeal against Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, which had last year thrown out at the plan for 38 Beechwood Park Road, above.
The authority said the home would be a ‘visually incongruous addition to this prominent corner location, seriously prejudicing the open, landscaped character of the site’.
But the national Planning Inspectorate overturned the decision after the developer appealed.
It concluded that the house ‘would not be harmful’ to the area and would blend into the street and not be seen from other houses.
The house would not be ‘cramped’ and a similar distance to other homes as others in the street, the report found.
It found: “Nothing in the matters raised leads me to the view that the appeal proposal would be harmful to the character and appearance of the area.”
