A BID to put a six foot pyramid in Mell Square, Solihull has been delayed.Councillors were due to make a decision on whether to let the plan go ahead on Wednesday night but the matter was withdrawn.
Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council wants to put the pyramid at the centre of a garden in the current chessboard space.

Two objections were lodged against the plan saying the £11,000 cost would be ‘better spent elsewhere’
They ask: “Why is it necessary to replace the existing chessboard feature?”
It adds: “Money would be better spent encouraging a number of small units.”
Yet the council’s planning officer had recommended to members of the planning committee that the plan be accepted.
They said it is an ‘attractive feature’ and would ‘provide a focal point to the square which residents could visit and feel proud of’.
They said: “It is not considered that the feature would have a detrimental impact on the neighbouring amenities of the site and would have a positive impact on the appearance of
this part of the town centre.”
Youngsters were invited to design the sides of the pyramid as Solihull launched its Britain in Bloom bid.
