Chiltern Railways chairman Adrian Shooter said: “Chiltern Mainline will transform rail travel to London.
“Your Mainline will be delivered through major upgrades to track and infrastructure
so that trains run faster.
“To keep inconvenience to a minimum, most work will take place at evenings and weekends.
“There will be some occasions where we have to undertake work on weekdays too.”
He said this will mean more bus journeys from Birmingham Moor Street and serving “smaller stations” to Leamington Spa.
The works will cut journey times to:
• Birmingham Moor Street in 1 hour 40 minutes
• Warwick Parkway in 1 hour 15 minutes
• Haddenham & Thame Parkway in 36 minutes
• High Wycombe in 22 minutes
• Gerrards Cross in 18 minutes
