The Dorridge Residents Opposed to Village Superstore group says a second scheme for Forest Court does not answer its concerns.
Sainsbury’s last month came forward with a new plan that is about 25 per cent smaller than a scheme rejected by councillors in March.
The group has emailed residents who fought the first plan. It says: “Now Sainsbury’s have revised their plans. Yes, they’ve listened. But is it enough?
“We agree. Forest Court is an eyesore and we welcome the right development for Dorridge.”
Yet it says the new 1,812sqm plan is a not a “fair compromise” and raises concerns over a planned 12 daily delivery trucks “rumbling through” Knowle and Station Road, from the M42.
It says: “We believe that constructive criticism and fresh proposals – made with your help – will result in a better solution for the people of Dorridge.
“We’re a small group, with jobs, families and other commitments, trying to take on the Sainsbury’s PR machine.
“Only with support from our friends and neighbours, can we make progress.
“All we’re asking is for you to reply to this email answering this question: do you think that Sainsbury’s plans still deserve to be challenged?
“A yes or no is enough. But, by all means, do let us know how you feel!
“A positive response will give us a mandate to talk to SMBC and Sainsbury’s – and a renewed mission: to make this development the best it can be, now and for generations to come.”
