English teacher Philippa Evans had just completed her first termwhen she was killed in a collision with another vehicle in Wales on August 1.
She was returning to see her family in the Merthyr Tydfil area when her silver Mitsubishi Colt was in collision with a Mercedes E220 on the A465 Heads of the Valleys Road.
Mrs Green said: “It is with the deepest sadness that I have to tell you the shocking news about the sudden death of a young teacher at the school.
“Philippa Evans joined us last term to teach English. She was killed in a head-on traffic accident on Monday 1 August.”
She said: “Though she was only with us a short time she had made an incredible impact on the school.
“She was an extremely talented, passionate and respected young woman.
“The terrible grief to her parents for the loss of a daughter at the tender age of 26 can only be imagined; the loss to future generations of children whose lives she would have enriched is also deeply sad.
“Philippa brought great joy to Arden with her sunny personality, unfailing optimism and love of children.
“The world has been robbed of a beautiful young woman; full of life, joy and energy. She will be greatly missed by her colleagues and pupils at Arden.”
The Mercedes driver and passenger were not seriously injured.
A statement from her family said: "Philippa was a deeply spiritual and intellectual fun loving girl who conducted herself with integrity in all life’s opportunities and endeavours.
“She took great pleasure in educating young people’s minds and will be sorely missed by her family and all who knew her and by the students and colleagues.”
