The evening event at Hockley
Heath Recreation Ground, Old Warwick Road
will feature The West
Midlands Police Brass Band and The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (Warwickshire),
pictured above.
Proceeds will go to the Care
of Police Survivors and Army Benevolent Fund and towards
a cleared woodland area with
zip wires, story trees and picnic tables at the rec.
Organiser Gary Campbell said
it builds on the success of a November bonfire and fireworks event, which
attracted more than 700 people.
He said: “The bonfire proved
that events like this are popular in Hockley Heath and we believe we can
attract 750 or more to the Proms.
“As well as the music we will
have singing, picnics, drinks, and to finish it all off, a fireworks display
set to music.
“There is a great deal of
interest in the activity to create better facilities at the recreation ground,
and we hope all villagers will come and help contribute towards making it
happen as well as raising funds for such worthwhile Army and Police Service
charities.”
Tickets will go on sale early
next month. To register an interest email hockleyheathproms@hotmail.co.uk.
