Solihull Metropolitan Borough
Council is seeking views on a plan to ban parking for 52-metres on both side of
the road (see map here).
The close is home to The
Arden Medical Centre and Knowle & Dorridge Dental Practice.
The council said: “Recently,
the NHS has renewed the double yellow lines on the roads under their control.
“This has had the effect of
moving those cars that parked on the private part of the road onto the public
highway part of Downing Close.
“Visitors to a nearby medical
centre generally ignore the centres own car parking facility in favour of parking
on Downing Close.
“Concerns have now been
raised by local residents regarding parking along the public part of Downing
Close up towards the Station Road junction.
“Following discussions with
local residents, it is recommended that parking restrictions be advertised for Downing
Close.”
